Bet365 tops Italian betting rankings despite revenue dip
A €730k dip in monthly gross gaming revenue in August is not enough to knock bet365 off the top spot

Bet365 has topped the rankings for Italian online sports betting in August as the operator’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) hit €8.3m for the month.
However, operator was the only firm in the top five to experience a month-on-month decrease in GGR, after bringing in €9m in July.
The operator is thought to have suffered from adverse sporting results, particularly from non-football events, with betting margin falling from 5.5% in July to 4.4%.
Turnover continued to show healthy growth, rising from €166.6m last month to €189.4m in August.
Closest rival Eurobet turned over €53.9m.
On revenue, Rome-headquartered SKS365 brought in the second most with GGR of €7.3m, narrowly ahead of Playtech-owned retail giant Snaitech, which ended August with €7.2m.
Eurobet (€5.6m) and Sisal (€5.5m) rounded off the top five, while Goldbet (€4.9m) was the only other operator to bring in August revenues of more than €4m.
Overall GGR for Italy’s 18 biggest online betting operators totalled €52m last month.
There is now less than a month to go until this year’s EGR Online Gambling Briefing – Italy.
