Bet365 tumbles to sixth place in Italian online betting rankings for November
Entain-owned Eurobet tops the charts as five land-based operators leapfrog bet365 due to online migration of retail customers
Five Italian operators have spectacularly leapt above bet365 in the country’s online sports betting rankings for the month of November.
Bet365, which previously topped the rankings every month for more than a year, was knocked off the top spot by Entain-owned Eurobet after retail operators capitalised on the coronavirus pandemic by migrating land-based customers to their online offerings.
Evidence of this trend began to emerge last month as Snaitech nearly matched the Stoke-headquartered bookmaker in GGR terms, but the shift has accelerated into November as proven by the figures below.
Eurobet took the title with €15m in GGR, while Snaitech (€14.9m), Goldbet (€13.9m), Sisal (€13.5m) and SKS365 (€13.3m) rounded off the top five.
Bet365 finished November with €12.9m, more than double the GGR of seventh-placed Lottomatica (€6m).
Bet365 still triumphed in the online turnover rankings for November, raking in €215m on a margin of 6%, to beat closest rival Eurobet (€125.2m) on a margin of 12%.
Bet365 obtained 19% market share as a percentage of online turnover last month, while Eurobet recorded the strongest market share as a percentage of online GGR at 13.5%.
