Bet365 is set to invest millions of pounds into the development of an expansive new headquarters as the online operator looks to move its entire Stoke-based operation under one roof.
The operator currently operates out of five separate offices at Festival Park on the outskirts of Stoke-on-Trent and the move will see its 2,200 employees relocated to a new three-storey building located close to the Etruria area of the city.
Bet365 will submit plans to build a 13,000 sq ft building capable of housing up to 2,800 staff. It is hoped that work could start as early as next summer, with the company taking up residence by early 2016.
The company is as yet undecided whether it will sell off or let its exisiting buildings.
Denise Coates CBE, bet365 joint chief executive, said the business had outgrown its existing offices and a move to a new bigger site would enable the company to plan for future growth.
“Since first moving to Festival Park in 2000, the company has grown to the extent whereby our teams are now spread across five separate buildings,” Coates said.
“The long-term goal has always been to bring these teams together under one roof and a move to a larger single site will enable us to do just that whilst also giving us the additional space required to grow the business in the future,” she added.
Bet365 has grown exponentially over the last 10 years becoming the largest private sector employer in Stoke-on-Trent.
The operator has continued to grow the business this year, topping the eGR Power 50 for the fourth year in succession after launching in Denmark, Spain and Australia while operating proï¬ts driven by mobile and in-play rose by 54% to £176.8m with amounts wagered rising by 150% and 61% respectively.
