Bet365 relocates global operational hub to Gibraltar
Operator moves sportsbook operations from Stoke to Gibraltar as part of major corporate restructuring

Bet365 confirmed this morning it is relocating its international remote gambling operations, including its sportsbook team, to Gibraltar as part of a significant corporate restructuring at the Stoke-based firm.
According to the firm, the reorganisation came following a review of its corporate structure with Gibraltar now acting as its new licensing hub.
Bet365’s Stoke-on-Trent offices will continue to house around 2,000 staff, including the Group’s board with both Denise and John Coates remaining in the UK.
More than 100 roles, mostly connected with its sportsbook operations and including the operator’s chief trading officer, have been transferred to the firm’s Waterport Place offices in Gibraltar as bet365 looks to streamline its licensing structure.
The move means the firm’s entire global transactional remote gambling business is now located in and licensed by Gibraltar, where its bet365-branded gaming business has operated since 2007.
The move is designed to simplify the regulatory path for future licence applications as the operator looks to add to its current licences which include Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Denmark and Australia.
The new Gibraltar roles are a mixture of both new hires and relocated staff and the reorganisation has not resulted in any redundancies with those not making the move offered alternative positions within the reorganised group.
The UK base will provide support to its Gibraltar operating hub though its software and technical support, outsourced customer services and contracted marketing services that will now operate as separate teams based in Stoke.
Bet365 also remains committed to moving into new and larger premises in Stoke-on-Trent with the firm planning to increase its headcount ahead of the 2016 move.
