Betano granted online sports betting licence in Germany
Kaizen Gaming’s international brand receives clearance from Darmstadt Regional Council

Kaizen Gaming-owned brand Betano has received a licence from the Darmstadt Regional Council to operate online sports betting in Germany.
The licence was granted as part of the process of issuing sports betting licences under the third amendment of the country’s Interstate Treaty on Gambling.
The licence award will spark the launch of betano.de in the coming days as well as the integration with the blocking system, OASIS, as required by German regulators.
Betano has been operating in the German market since 2018, with regulation now on the horizon.
Clemens Kaiser, Betano Germany country manager, said: “We are very pleased with the positive news of the licensing of Betano in the German market.
“As our strategy entails presence in licensed jurisdictions, every step towards regulation is beneficial for players and serious operators respectively.
“We now have a clearer set of rules, one that further ensures players protection and public revenues for the state and we are looking forward to further promote the brand in the country and offer quality services and entertainment in a responsible manner to our clients,” he added.
Betano is the overseas brand of Greece-based Kaizen Gaming and operates in Germany, Portugal, Romania and Brazil.
