French operator agrees two-year partnership deal with Ligue 1 side

Bordeaux-headquartered betting firm Betclic has agreed a deal to become the sponsor of French Ligue 1 side FC Girondins de Bordeaux for the next two football seasons.
The partnership will involve the development of a 360 ° brand visibility plan, encompassing VIP and club hospitality, promotional events for supporters and advertising campaigns across digital media.
The two-year agreement will cover both the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, with Betclic branding set to appear on the lower half of players’ shirts.
Betclic’s Bordeaux headquarters, which opened last year, is situated in the Bacalan area of the city and currently employs approximately 250 staff. In April, the firm unveiled a new logo designed to reinforce its status as a “market-leading betting platform”.
Nicolas Béraud, CEO of Betclic Group, said the deal was a natural fit in allowing the operator to become closer to its local football club.
“We are proud to support the new project and the new dynamics of the club,” Béraud said.
“We share the desire to offer our audiences the best possible experience and we hope to delight the fans of the Girondins by offering unseen animations and the most comprehensive offer of bets for the club’s matches,” Béraud added.
Frédéric Longuépée, CEO of FC Girondins de Bordeaux, said the club was eager to open “a new chapter” in partnership with Betclic, adding that they both shared a drive to challenge and innovate.
“Both Bordelais, it was more logical to join forces to engage our communities and make them live a unique experience,” Longuépée added.
