Betfair, Bet365 neck and neck in Oddschecker February top 10

A DIP at Betfair and a rise at Bet365 saw the two rivals closer than ever in their competition to be the number one bookmaker on Oddschecker, the top odds comparison site’s February figures reveal.

The data, seen exclusively by EGRmagazine.com, show that Betfair holds just 0.4% more traffic than Bet365 does from the site, which is the UK’s leading odds comparison service and boasts more than 600,000 unique users a month.

Oddschecker commercial manager Simon Miller said: “It has been nip and tuck all month with Betfair dominating midweek but Bet365 outperforming every other bookmaker on Saturdays,topping both the racing and football charts in bet slips. Betfair’s strength in depth, with strong showings in ante post markets, tennis and cricket make sure they keep their slender lead.”

The figures reveal that Ladbrokes’ strong performance allowed it to keep the third place position it recorded in January’s Oddschecker top 10, when a technical fault involving William Hill’s deep linking reduced its arch rival’s share, while February also saw Bwin join the site for the first time.

“Ladbrokes continues its strong recent showing ““ up another 0.8% ““ and is February’s top mover. Almost all its gains have come in horse racing with the step-change coming on the 2 February and continuing at the higher level of racing bet slips all month,” Continued Miller.

“Outside of the top 10, Bwin has gained a 0.8% market share in its first full month on Oddschecker. Coming from a standing start and without a horse racing product it will be interesting to see if this European giant can march up the league.”
