Betfair CTO Phil Dixon departs
Dixon leaves after more than three years at the company, joining Los Angeles-based restaurant technology firm Tillster
Betfair chief technology officer Phil Dixon has left the sportsbook and exchange operator to join Los Angeles-based restaurant technology firm Tillster.
US-born Dixon had served in his role for more than three years, joining the company in May 2010 to head the operator’s product development initiatives. He was also a member of Betfair’s 10-strong executive board.
Dixon had previously co-founded project portfolio management solution provider Project.net in 2000 before joining online shopping firm Shopzilla as its VP of engineering in June 2005.
Dixon’s spell at the company came during a period the operator branched out from its core exchange offering to launch a fixed odds sportsbook in the UK in May 2012, seven months after it relaunched its casino offering.
Dixon’s departure comes one week after it was revealed that the operator’s global head of ecommerce Tamsin Todd is to leave the company at the end of the year, joining UK-based ski operator Crystal Ski.
