Betfair head of public affairs departs
Susannah Gill leaves after more than five years to join racecourse owners Arena Racing and is replaced by Tom Tuxworth
Betfair’s head of public affairs Susannah Gill has left the operator after more than five years to join racecourse owners Arena Racing.
She has been replaced at Betfair by Tom Tuxworth who will step into role of head of public affairs for the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands from his previous role of public affairs manager, which he began in June 2010.
Gill has left to join Arena Racing, owners and operators of 15 racecourses in Great Britain, as its new director of external affairs.
Gill joined Betfair in October 2008 and served as its head of public affairs until this month, where her duties included liaising with policymakers and presenting Betfair’s stance on various regulatory issues.
She also oversaw Betfair’s commercial deal with British Horseracing and last year spoke out regarding contributions made by the UK’s four largest retail bookmakers “ William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral and Betfred “ to the UK Horserace Betting Levy Board, accusing them of hiding online revenues from their contributions.
Betfair had yet to respond to requests for comment on this story at the time of writing.
