Betfredâs Australia-facing mobile site soft launched
Operator to follow-up HTML5 offering with stand-alone apps in the coming months
Betfred launched its Australia-facing HTML5 mobile sports betting site on Monday as part of its strategy to become Australiaâs âmobile bookieâ.
The operator previously detailed its intention to enter Australia with a âmobile-firstâ strategy, and the sports book app launch comes three weeks prior to this summerâs football World Cup.
Betfred launched the mobile site with special offers including a free matched first bet up to AU$250 and doubling the price of Spain to win this yearâs World Cup to 15/1 for a limited time only.
Speaking to sister publication eGaming Review, Betfred Austrlia MD Luke Brill said that the launch was the first part of a multi-phased approach into the market.
âThe mobile site will soon be followed by stand-alone apps for both Android and Apple for sports, rugby league, Australian rules football and Lotto,â Brill said.
The launch comes as part of a mobile push for the operator having last week launched a new TV campaign in the UK to promote its mobile casino application.
