Bethard continues aggressive European expansion with Irish licence
Firm also plans to enter Spain and Germany in 2019 after Irish sportsbook launch in Q1

Malta-based Bethard has received a licence to operate its online sportsbook in Ireland as part of its aggressive European expansion plan.
CEO and founder Erik Skarp said the firm was also working on obtaining licences in Spain and Schleswig-Holstein in Germany, with more European markets on the roadmap for 2019 and 2020.
The operator plans to launch its Irish product in Q1 2019.
“We are moving forward at an exceptional speed, and I think we have managed to demonstrate our sincerity in our ambition to create Europe’s leading betting company,” Skarp said.
“When I look back at 2018 and what we have managed to achieve in a very short period of time, I am exceptionally proud of the company.
“In less than one year, we have moved from being a small Swedish niche player, to a force that is to be reckon with in a much larger arena,” Skarp said.
Ireland is the second new market for the firm this week, as it also received a Swedish licence to operate in the market as from January 2019.
