Bethard primed for Denmark launch
Malta-based sports betting operator eyes further European expansion before 2020

Bethard is primed for further European expansion after being granted a Danish betting licence, the operator announced yesterday.
The Malta-based sportsbook currently operates in the UK market, but is aiming for a Nordic push having obtained a licence in Denmark and applied for one in Sweden.
The firm is also working on a licence application in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
Bethard CEO, Erik Skarp, said: “We are very satisfied to get a green light in Denmark and we look forward to start growing our presence in the Danish market.
”2018 is a truly exciting year for us, one in which we are determined to lay a solid foundation for establishing Bethard as Europe’s leading sports betting brand.
“We have had a great start with the announcement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic joining our team, followed by a very successful start in the UK market and a great World Cup.
“Now the time has come to conquer Denmark,” he added.
Bethard has made a significant impact in European sports betting since recruiting Ibrahimovic as a brand ambassador and co-owner in March.
The group intends to have a locally licenced presence in every key European market by 2020.
