
Betsson expands operations in Mexico and Italy
Operator launches in key Latam market while adding sports betting to existing Italian online casino brand


Betsson Group has ramped up its international expansion plans with further launches in Mexico and Italy.
The Stockholm-listed operator has rolled out its online sports betting and igaming operations in Mexico under its betsson.mx banner.
Betsson trialled its Mexican operations earlier this month and will now focus on ramping up its commercial activities and presence ahead of the World Cup in November.
The Mexican operations will be run by Betsson’s Latam hub, based in the Colombian capital, Bogotá.
Jesper Svensson, Betsson Operations CEO, said: “We continue to deliver on our geographically diversified growth strategy and see great potential ahead in the Latin American markets in general and in Mexico in particular, given the size of its economy and population.
“I am particularly excited about the upcoming football World Cup during the seasonally very busy fourth quarter and am confident that Mexican customers will enjoy Betsson’s market-leading product offering,” he added.
Elsewhere, Betsson has expanded its presence in Italy with the unveiling of a new sports betting brand StarCasinò Bet.
The new venture is built out of Betsson’s existing online gaming-only StarCasinò brand, with Betsson noting the launch would allow it to grow its “brand’s positioning as a point of reference within the industry and to further engage with its customers”.
