Betsson to cut 160 staffers in efficiency drive
Operator’s personnel reshuffle continues with streamlining process that could save the firm up to £4.5m annually

Betsson has announced plans to cut approximately 160 members of staff in order to streamline the organisation and improve efficiency.
Group CEO Pontus Lindwall believes the firm could save an estimated SEK 50-60m (£4.5m) per year as a result of the changes, which will be implemented throughout January.
The exact savings will be detailed in the financial report for Q1 2018.
Lindwall said: “In cooperation with the operational management team, we have started to implement actions to improve operations.
“The restructured organisation will be more streamlined with clearer responsibilities, which I believe will improve its efficiency over time,” added Lindwall.
The reduction continues a period of turnover among Betsson staff after Jesper Svensson was appointed as the permanent CEO of its Malta-based operational subsidiary in December 2017.
Betsson CTO Stefan Nordin and CPO Jörg Malang also departed during December’s management reshuffle with the recruitment process currently well underway for both roles.
