Betsson creates new director of communications role
Swedish company appoints Malin Sparf Rydberg to promote portfolio of Betsson betting brands

Betsson AB has appointed Malin Sparf Rydberg to the newly created role of director of communications as the company looks to develop a “clearer and more distinct” strategy for its portfolio of brands.
Ryberg will lead both the external and internal communications for Betsson and joins the company after having spent four years carrying out a similar role with Friends Arena, Sweden’s national football stadium.
According to Betsson CEO Maguns Silvferberg, the appointment of Rydberg was necessary in order to successfully promote the work being carried out by the company’s growing employee base, which has now topped the 1,000 mark.
The Swedish holding company operates a number of betting sites such as betsson.com, betsafe.com, casinoeuro.com and nordicbet.com.
“Malin will be instrumental in getting our message out there, both from a corporate and business perspective but also from a responsible gaming and CSR perspective,” Silvferberg told eGaming Review.
“Her role is mainly to lead the corporate communication for Betsson AB. Malin will, however, also support the operational entities in their communication,” he added.
The appointment of Rydberg comes on the back of two recent hires which have bolstered Betsson’s casino division.
Former Mr Green chief product officer Markus Aurala has joined Betsson as its overall head of casino while ex-Betfair head of international marketing Peter Weinreich has taken up the role as managing director for Casino.dk.
