Swedish operator unveils new native sportsbook and casino app with further releases due shortly

Betsson AB has launched a new native mobile app for its mobile sportbook and casino verticals as the Swedish operator looks to increase revenues derived from touch devices.
The native Betsson.com app, which launched today (21 October), is available on the Apple iPhone through the Apple store and is soon to be released on Android. Native apps for more brands within the Betsson group will be launched shortly.
According to the Nordic operator, the app will open up new marketing opportunities for through the use of push technology and other features that are built in to the mobile system.
“I believe push notifications will dramatically enhance the respond ratio for marketing messages, and therefore should work towards greater conversion and ARPU for Betsson.com“ Magnus Silfverberg (pictured), CEO Betsson, told eGaming Review.
Betsson expects the new app to increase its percentage of mobile revenues which totalled 9% in Q2 and comes after Silfverberg had previously told eGR that Betsson had “some catching up to do” in the mobile space.
In July, Betsson announced a sharp rise in revenues and profits for the three months to 30 June following the successful migration of all its products onto a common platform.
The second quarter saw overall revenues increase year-on-year by 19% to SEK579.2m (£60m) while deposits in all of Betsson’s products amounted to SEK2.01bn a rise of 34%.
The operator is due to announce its Q3 results on Friday.
