
Betsson posts record quarterly revenue
Operator lauds new data analysis systems as 24% growth to take revenues to £75m
Betsson AB this morning posted its highest ever quarterly revenue figures, with the firm crediting improved data analysis for a significant rise in Q3 figures.
Revenues of SEK 972.9m (£75.7m) represented a 24%year-on-year rise at the European egaming giant, despite going up against the tail-end of last summer’s football World Cup.
“By continuously analysing a huge amount of data about internet use and what is relevant for customers, Betsson is able to develop more individually designed experiences,” Pontus Lindwall, Betsson president and interim CEO, said.
“Advancements in how to handle big volumes of data are crucial for the company’s sustainable, profitable growth,” he added.
The firm’s net income was up 28% to SEK 247m (£19.2m), helped by an 18% increase in customer deposits to SEK3.24bn (£252m).
Mobile revenues grew 85% to SEK 326.1m (£25.4m) and constituted 34% of total revenues for the quarter, compared with 23% for the same period last year.
And the firm also said that the recently acquired Europe-Bet contributed SEK 75.2m (£5.8m) in revenue and SEK 23m (£1.8m) in operating income for the quarter.
