Betsson’s CTO and CPO to depart amid management reshuffle
Stefan Nordin and Jörg Malang to leave early next year with new CCO also to be hired

Betsson’s chief technology officer Stefan Nordin and chief product officer Jörg Malang are set to leave the operator early next year, EGR Intel has learned.
The departures continue a period of turnover among Betsson’s senior management team, with a new operational CEO, Jesper Svensson, appointed earlier this week.
CTO Stefan Nordin told EGR he had decided it was “time for something new” after 12 years at the company and he “missed bigger cities like London”.
He said on LinkedIn he had joined as Betsson Technologies’ tenth member in 2005 and left behind a team of 500.
“It has been challenging, rewarding, educational and great fun,” he added.
Malang, who joined Betsson in December 2016, would not comment on reasons behind his departure, but posted on LinkedIn: “Thank you all for your very encouraging feedback and wishes for the future. I am doing well. Appreciate that so many have checked in with me after having left Betsson Group. You all rock!”
A recruitment process has begun for both roles, along with a search to fill the chief commercial officer role which was vacated by Svensson.
Svensson, the new operations CEO, said in a statement provided to EGR: “Betsson is making a number of changes to improve performance and changes in management is one of them.
“Technology and product are at the core of our business and the changes made are part on a journey towards new and efficient ways of working and a more logical organisation.”
As part of the reshuffle Betsson’s director of customer service and payments operations, Apostolos Dousias, has been promoted to chief operating officer.
The Malta-based firm endured a challenging Q3 with underlying organic growth of just 2% thanks to a flat performance in the Nordics and some integration problems from the acquisition of NetPlay TV.
