Better Change adds ex-Gordon Moody head as engagement director
Rob Mabbett links up with organisation to take leading role in championing safer gambling across the industry

Better Change has appointed safer gambling expert Rob Mabbett as the group’s new engagement director.
Mabbett joins the firm after almost five years with gambling harm charity Gordon Moody, having first entered the industry working for Betfred between 2012 and 2018.
Mabbett originally joined Gordon Moody as a gambling therapy manager before stepping up to become interim head of development and partnerships in March 2020.
In September 2020, he was named as the group’s head of growth and was further promoted to director of external engagement in September 2022.
As part of his new role at Better Change, Mabbett will lead engagement with operators and stakeholders in championing safer gambling at the forefront of the organisation’s intervention strategy.
Mabbett said his time with Gordon Moody had been “nothing short of incredible” when speaking about his appointment with Better Change.
He said: “The opportunity to still be able to continue working in the sector alongside Gordon Moody, while spreading my wings and joining an organisation that has managed to disrupt the industry with professionalism, innovation and a fresh perspective, is an exciting challenge.
“I’m very excited to get stuck in and to be a part of the next chapter in the Better Change story.”
Victoria Reed, founder of Better Change, added: “It is such an honour for Better Change to have someone of Rob’s calibre join us.
“This senior role will see Rob take control of our strategic direction as well as build on the phenomenal growth we’ve seen over the past two years. Rob’s passion, humility and experience is second to none and I am thrilled to welcome him to our team.”
