Betway to sponsor ATP Tour 500 event The Rio Open in 2022/23
Operator signs a two-year deal to add to recent European and Stockholm Open collaborations

Betway, part of the global digital company Super Group, have today announced a two-year deal to become the premium betting partner of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour 500 tournament, The Rio Open. The agreement also allows association rights as well as prominent branding across all match courts.
Betway will be integrated into the tournament’s social media and digital channels with the aim of producing engaging content for all tennis fans.
The Rio Open is the only ATP Tour event in Brazil, and the clay court event has been won by some of tennis’ biggest names since its inception in 2014 including the ‘King of Clay’ Rafael Nadal in its first year, fellow countryman David Ferrer in 2015 and Austria’s Dominic Thief in 2017.
In September, Betway signed a similar deal with the European Open, Belgium’s only ATP Tour event, and in October they announced their sponsorship of this month’s Stockholm Open – the oldest ATP indoor tournament – which was won by American Tommy Paul.
Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway, said: “Adding to our already enviable existing portfolio of tennis sponsorships, we’re delighted to become a premium partner of The Rio Open, Brazil’s only ATP Tour event.
“The tournament is always contested by the sport’s top talent and having an association with it marks another proud moment for the Betway brand.”
Marcia Casz, Director of Rio Open, stated: “It is a pleasure to have a brand as big as Betway in the Rio Open portfolio.
“We are very successful in having one of the leaders in its segment as a partner in the largest tennis event in Latin America and we hope to maintain a partnership for many years to come.”
