Black Friday pre-trial conference adjourned
Assistant Attorneys see request to delay trial to 7 or 8 May approved by judge.

The pre-trial hearing ahead of the upcoming Black Friday court case has been adjourned at the request of Assistant Attorneys Sharon Levin, Michael Lockard and Jason Cowley.
Judge Leonard B Sand has approved the trio’s motion, which was submitted due to “conflicts on [initial hearing date] 16 April and various other dates”. The hearing is now due to take place on 7 or 8 May.
Two of the Black Friday defendants, John Campos and Chad Elie, had originally been due to appear before court on 9 April, however both changed their pleas to guilty at the end of March, meaning this trial date would need to be revised.
Other defendants, including Absolute Poker head of payments Brent Beckley and payment processors Ryan Lang, Bradley Franzen and Ira Rubin, had already pleaded guilty.
There is no indication that the rescheduling is in any way connected to Full Tilt Poker, one of the operators affected by the Black Friday indictments, applying for a new operating licence.
