Boylesports appoints CEO for online division
Former head of online Keith O'Loughlin (pictured, right) appointed to run division after group restructure
Boylesports has revealed it is to separate its retail and online operations as part of plans to ramp up investment in its digital offering.
The decision signals the Irish bookmaker’s commitment to developing digital channels in an attempt to establish a foothold in new territories such as the Asian market.
Keith O’Loughlin, who joined Boylesports as head of online in 2011, has been given a new title as CEO of the Boylesports Online division.
He will be responsible for developing Boylesports.com and related betting and gaming websites across mobile, web and all digital channels internationally, as well as introducing new products and developing sub-brands such as Boylepoker.com and Boylecasino.com.
John Boyle (pictured, left), founder and group CEO, will continue to manage the overall business.
Boylesports Online launched a new online casino with Playtech last year, and has its own poker offering on the AIM-listed software provider’s iPoker network. It also has relationships with GTECH G2, Apple and Google.
John Boyle said in a statement: “Now is the right time for us to restructure to ensure that both the retail and online side of the business continue to grow. Our loyal shop customers in Ireland are very important to us, but we also need to consider our customers, and potential customers, in markets further afield. We feel we can best cater to all by taking this action now.”
