Bwin boosts Spanish presence with four football sponsorships
GVC-owned brand inks deals with Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Villareal and Valencia

Bwin has signed sponsorship deals with four La Liga football clubs in an effort to raise its profile in Spain’s growing online gambling market.
The GVC-owned sportsbook brand inked deals with Villareal and Sevilla, which run until May 2018, while agreements with Atletico Madrid and Valencia run until June 2018.
“Collectively they will help to raise our profile in the Spanish market through a combination of in-stadia advertising and associated broadcast coverage, a digital presence on each club’s website and additional benefits such as tickets and image rights for promotions,” GVC spokesperson, Jay Dossetter, told EGR Intel.
Recent figures from the Spanish market showed full-year turnover in excess of €10bn for the first time, with revenues over €400m. Sportsbook revenues specifically were up 32% €238.2m.
GVC reported a 19% increase in sportsbook NGR in Q4, with CEO Kenny Alexander saying the integration of bwin.party was “proceeding ahead of original expectations”.
