Caesars receives New Jersey licence
Caesars Interactive gets the go-ahead to launch its platform in the Garden State on 26 November as five-day trial period gets underway today

Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) has been given the green light to operate its online platform in New Jersey, after receiving approval from the state’s Casino Control Commission.
Almost immediately after the decision was made, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement also issued Caesars with an interactive gambling permit, allowing Caesars to launch its online platforms today as part of a five-day trial.
“We appreciate the licensing today by the Casino Control Commission and are excited to launch CaesarsCasino.com, HarrahsCasino.com, and WSOP.com to those inside New Jersey’s borders today,” said Seth Palansky, a spokesman for CIE.
Caesars operates four casinos in New Jersey, with Caesars Atlantic City and Bally’s now being licensed to offer internet gambling.
CIE has partnered with 888 and Amaya Gaming to supply its online platform. 888 will power Caesars’ WSOP-branded poker product, while Amaya will provide software services for the online casino site.
“We are proud of our long operating history in Atlantic City and commend the administration legislative leadership, and the Division of Gaming Enforcement for their vision and diligence regarding online gaming,” Palansky added.
The only other establishment with a licence application still pending is Resorts Casino Hotel, which has partnered with PokerStars‘ parent company The Rational Group.
The Revel Casino Hotel and The Atlantic Club Casino have not revealed any plans to enter the market, with the latter filing for chapter 11-bankruptcy protection earlier this month.
A five-day egaming trial period will get underway in New Jersey today, before internet gambling goes live at 9am US time on 26 November.
