Campos appointed new PokerStars CEO
Former Dragonfish MD Gabi Campos has been announced as the new chief executive of global poker giant PokerStars, following his departure from 888's B2B arm last month.

Gabi Campos has been appointed PokerStars’ new chief executive, eGaming Review can exclusively reveal, following his departure from 888’s Dragonfish B2B arm last month.
Campos (pictured) will start in his new role on 4 October, but started acting as a non-operational consultant to the group yesterday. He will visit the poker market leader’s Isle of Man base next week and its Costa Rica office the week after.
PokerStars founder Isai Scheinberg will continue as chief technical officer, while son Mark Scheinberg will assume the position of chairman.
In an internal memo seen by eGaming Review, Mark Scheinberg told employees: “Both Isai and myself will continue to be closely involved in the company’s strategic direction and building on the success we have all achieved together as a team over the last 10 years.
“We are excited about this new chapter in the PokerStars story, and look forward to Gabi’s leadership in taking the company forward to continued success.”
Campos left his position of Dragonfish managing director last month in the wake of 888’s full-year results, which showed Dragonfish to be the star performer against the company’s overall decline in profits.
The B2B arm had under Campos grown significantly, providing US$51.3m of 888 Holdings’ US$246.7m operating income last year, a US$12.7m (33%) rise on its 2008 results.
