Catena Media enters French market with sports betting acquisition
Malta-headquartered affiliate announces €8m purchase of Paris Sportifs after strengthening financial services portfolio

Catena Media has entered the French sports betting affiliate arena with the €8m acquisition of Paris Sportifs.
ParisSportifs.com is one of the leading sports affiliate websites in France, generating quarterly sales of approximately €500k by driving traffic for the likes of Unibet, ZEbet and Winamax via social media.
The initial purchase price amounts to €8.2m, of which €6.2m will be paid in cash with the remaining €2m distributed as newly issued shares in Catena Media plc, which is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.
“I am very proud that we are now entering the regulated French market through this strategic acquisition of Paris Sportifs,” said interim CEO Henrik Persson Ekdahl.
“This is in line with our growth strategy and strengthens our leading position in Europe.
“It’s also a strategic move for us, bringing growth in sports betting with the FIFA World Cup just around the corner.”

Ekdahl recently told EGR of his plans to recreate Catena Media’s egaming success in the financial services sector.
This strategy was made evident yesterday when Catena announced the €3.6m purchase of BrokerDeal.de, a German-facing affiliate site focusing on large private investors.
“I believe this acquisition constitutes a solid foundation for continued growth and profitability,” said Ekdahl.
“I’m proud to welcome Broker Deal to the Catena Media family and I’m very glad that managing director Michael Hinterleitner has decided to remain with the company,” he added.
