Cherry's Game Lounge acquires Finnish domains for €1.2m

Malta-based firm adds a number of Finland-facing domains to its Scandinavia-focused affiliate network
Cherry-owned network Game Lounge has expanded its foothold in Finlandâs egaming market after paying â¬1.2m (£850,000) to acquire a number of domains from a âprominent affiliateâ.
The Scandinavian-focused network today announced it had bought a number of domains including nettikasinovertailu.info, netticasino.eu and onlinecasinofindr.com which it expects will add over â¬600,000 to Cherryâs EBITDA annually.
âThe domains will contribute positively from day one and we have the capacity to take them over and all of the operations without adding personnel,â Jonas Cederholm, CEO of Game Lounge, said.
âWe see significant potential with the acquisition and it will play an important strategic role for the launch of our next white label in Finland,â he added.
Malta-based Game Lounge now owns over 300 websites and said its latest acquisitions will add more than 10,000 new depositing players to parent company Cherry every year.
âThe acquisition of the domains puts Cherry and Game Lounge in a stronger position in the affiliate sector and especially within Finland,â Cherry CEO, Fredrik Burvall, said.
âWe have been pleased with the performance of Game Lounge so far, and this acquisition will increase volumes at a much lower cost, both for Cherryâs current brands and upcoming white labels,â Burvall continued.
