Cloudbet adds esports offering to bitcoin sportsbook
Operator looking to tap into growth of vertical during coronavirus pandemic

Bitcoin-first operator Cloudbet has launched an esports vertical for its online sportsbook which includes leading titles such as FIFA and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).
Players will be able to bet on more than 60 markets across live-streamed esports events, both pre-match and in-play.
Cloudbet has also launched its own Discord channel where players can link-up to swap betting tips and explore the operator’s best odds for various esports events.
A Cloudbet spokesperson said: “Our figures indicate clearly that there is strong demand and we will continue to invest in making our platform the best place to bet on esports with crypto. Our aim as a responsive and innovative operator is to recognise what our customers want and deliver it to them.”
Cloudbet currently supports bitcoin and ethereum in terms of cryptocurrency with more earmarked to be added to the offering in the future.
In May, the amount of new bitcoin created and distributed will halve from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC.
