Codere and River Plate agree official betting partnership
Spanish operator strengthens foothold in Latam with four-year marketing deal

Codere has secured a deal to become the official betting partner of Argentine football powerhouse River Plate over the next four years.
The Spanish-headquartered private gaming company will begin its partnership with the club from next month.
In the initial stage of their relationship, Codere’s logo will become visible on the sleeve of the River Plate shirt.
Carlos Sabanza, Codere sponsorship manager, said: “This agreement allows us to reach the Argentine and Latam public in the best and most direct way possible, providing our current and future customers the best brand experience.
“This alliance, with one of the most important football teams in the country, allows us to enhance our positioning as a leading online sports betting and omni-channel entertainment provider in this key market,” he added.
River Plate are historically one of the most successful clubs in Argentina, claiming 36 Primera Division titles and winning the Copa Libertadores four times.
This is not the first time Codere has linked up with a Latam-facing football team having recently agreed a sponsorship agreement with the Monterrey Rayados.
Both deals are in addition to one of the biggest sponsorship prizes in sport as Codere is the official betting partner of Real Madrid.
It also promoted Euro 2020 with a specific campaign.
Codere began in Madrid as a small slot machine operator and has grown to have a well established presence in Latam, with entertainment offerings in Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Colombia and Panama.
The deal with River Plate will expand further its operations in Argentina. The business is currently the largest gaming hall operator in the province of Buenos Aires, with 13 in operation.
In June, a merger agreement was reached to take the company public between Codere’s online gaming subsidiary Servicios de Juego Online and its consolidated subsidiaries with the SPAC DD3 Acquisition Corp. II.
