Crypto operator Stake strikes sponsorship deal with Watford
Aspire Global-powered sports betting and online casino firm seals club-record deal with the Hornets on their return to the Premier League

Stake, the newly launched UK crypto casino and sports betting operator, has signed a multi-year marketing partnership with Premier League club Watford.
Starting in time for the 2021-22 campaign, the club-record deal will see Stake become the team’s principal shirt sponsor as they return to the top flight after being promoted last year.
Stake hopes the agreement – which it paid for in cryptocurrency – will leverage the global appeal of the Premier League to drive awareness of the brand across the world.
To commemorate the beginning of the partnership, Stake will be running crypto-themed initiatives, including a 10 million Dogecoin giveaway on its international platform.
In addition to this, UK consumers can expect multiple other promotions and giveaways after Stake launched its new UK website in June in combination with sports betting provider Aspire Global.
Founded in 2017, Stake is one of the leaders of the cryptocurrency industry and processes more than 30 billion transactions per year, accounting for over 5% of bitcoin transactions worldwide.
The Watford deal has been added to Stake’s sports sponsorship portfolio following the brand’s unveiling as UFC’s official betting partner for Latam and Asia in March.
Stake CEO Mladen Vuckovic said: “The past few years have seen consistent growth for Stake and this partnership with Watford marks the next chapter for our company.
“We could not be more thrilled to partner with a club that has such immense history yet still a true innovative spirit.
“We’re committed to becoming a key part of the Watford family and have a number of exciting initiatives planned for fans over the coming months,” he added.
Watford is no stranger to crypto betting having previously been sponsored by Coingaming Group-owned sportsbook brand Sportsbet.io.
Watford chairman and CEO Scott Duxbury said: “This will be an extremely exciting campaign for the club as we return to the Premier League and we couldn’t be happier to join with a partner who matches our ambitious outlook and commitment to innovation in order to achieve success.”
