Crypto startup adds ex-Hills duo and ACR head to growing senior team
Maverick Games moves for Dan Kent, Danny Carrington and Ruairi Daly as it plots business growth

Startup crypto operator Maverick Games has added three industry experts to its growing team as it looks to expand the business.
The Isle of Man-based firm, which is the trading name of Shelgeyr Limited, has added Dan Kent, Danny Carrington and Ruairi Daly in a major recruitment drive.
Kent has been named as director of poker after previously spending more than eight years with Americas Cardroom.
Touching on his new role, Kent said: “We want to offer a safe and fun place to come and enjoy playing online poker and, as always, I will advocate for the player by taking their feedback and implementing it into the Maverick Games experience where possible.
“We really have put a lot of focus into our customer experience and service and want players to know they will be well looked after when playing with us.”
Elsewhere, former Rank Group, Ladbrokes Coral and William Hill marketing expert Carrington has been appointed as the group’s new marketing director.
He will be responsible for scaling the company’s marketing team and driving customer acquisition and retention.
Joining Carrington in the marketing division is fellow former Hills staffer Daly as marketing manager.
Daly spent more than three years at Hills across the group’s social media arm between May 2018 and July 2021.
Carrington said: “We are at the start of such an adventure with new markets, products, features and experiences on the horizon. I have been hugely impressed with the hunger and desire within the business to really change the game and how the entire team is working together to do this.”
Speaking on the trio’s appointments, Maverick Games MD Kendra Ross praised the experience of her new hires.
Ross said: “Every decision we make is about how we can best serve our players and especially providing them with a safe place to gamble so they can focus on having fun. Bringing on Dan, Danny and Ruairi will certainly help drive us towards that goal.
“Their wealth of experience when it comes to creating unrivalled player experiences at some of the biggest brands in the business is a huge asset for us and our customers.”
Maverick Games has held an Isle of Man licence since 2018 and the group confirmed it is looking to secure additional licences in the near future.
