Danish Online Gambling Association to be formed
Sportingbet, Unibet, Bet365 and Betfair founding members of RGA-backed group.

A new lobby group designed to act as a voice for online operators in a regulated Danish market will be formed on 1 December, eGaming Review has learned.
The Remote Gambling Association-endorsed organisation will be called the Danish Online Gambling Association (DOGA), or Danskonlinespilforening, and will announce its new chief executive on Wednesday in an exclusive interview with eGaming Review.
eGR has learned that the four founding members are Unibet, Be365, Betfair and Sportingbet, with other operators known to be close to signing up.
The RGA said in a statement: “The focus of DOGA’s work will be on representing the remote gambling sector in Denmark and acting for it outside of that jurisdiction when considered appropriate.”
The market will open on 1 January next year, after the European Commission ruled that the 20% tax on gross gaming revenues did not give online gambling operators an unfair advantage over local land-based casino and slots businesses.
In October eGR revealed that the Danish Gambling Authority had received more double the number of applications anticipated by the submission deadline of 17 October, with 43 operators submitting a total of 68 license applications.
