Danske Spil opens sports betting platform tender
Danish monopoly looks to source and announce online sports betting platform by April next year.

Danish monopoly Danske Spil is looking to source an online sports betting platform before the market officially regulates on 1 January next year, the company has announced after opening up an EU tender this morning.
Danske’s strategy has previously been based on a combination of third party systems and in-house developments, however in a statement today it said that in order to “strengthen its offers for its customers, it would in future, “base games on partnerships with the best suppliers in each product category”.
“Danske Spil is in full swing adapting internal control systems for inclusion in these partnerships, and will conclude cooperation agreements with selected suppliers in the course of the next three years,” the statement read.
Hans Christian Madsen, CEO of Danske Spil told eGR that it would continue to use its own sportsbook until April next year when the company will announce the winning bid.
“We are looking for a partnership deal for a platform that will make us competitive in the future. We need to move to a more modern platform and system than the one we currently have today,” Madsen said.
“We want the whole solution with live and fixed odds and we will also look to opening a tender for a new games platform later in the year,” he added.
“Danske Spil purchases these solutions via official EU tenders,” the statement added. “The first system that Danske Spil will purchase is a total sports betting solution including development, maintenance, system operation and integration with external feed providers.”
The deadline for pre-qualification for this tender is 13 December this year.
