DGA launches whistleblower service
Players and operators encouraged to inform Danish regulator of unlicensed operators.

The Danish Gambling Authority (DGA) has announced the launch of a ‘surveillance’ service for companies and citizens to notify the regulator of illegal operators in the market.
People who are aware of unlicensed Danish-facing sites can email screenshots and company information to the DGA to investigate the companies, and issue them with a notice to cease operating.
Sites continuing to operate illegally are liable to be hit with a number of penalties, including IP blocking, having transfers to and from their bank accounts frozen, and police intervention.
The DGA said it has already been contacted by a number of sources regarding unlicensed sites, prompting the move to set up a dedicated service to combat the problem. A DGA spokesman explained that the service was also designed to educate players on the new gambling regulations and to provide players with a checklist with which to identify illegal operators.
