Double Down signs up with Golden Acorn Casino
California-based operator is second to host Double Down's casino app on website.
The Golden Acorn Casino and Travel Centre in California has become the latest land-based operator to embed IGT-owned Double Down Interactive’s casino app on its website.
The Campo-based Golden Acorn will host the app “ which includes free-play multi-player poker and casino games “ on its customer-facing website in exchange for a share of revenue. It follows last week’s news that Casino Del Sol Resort in Arizona had entered a similar deal.
Double Down’s flagship casino app is one of the largest gambling-related apps on Facebook. Gaming supplier IGT acquired social game developer for up to US$500m in January.
David Baggerly, director of marketing at Golden Acorn Casino and Travel Centre, said of the deal: “Offering the same game titles on the web that we offer inside our casino gives us the unique opportunity to deliver fun and engaging casino style experiences to our players.
“This is an incredible chance to drive interactive slot culture to our players, while allowing them to stay connected to our brand.”
The deal follows several other land-based casinos which have launched free-play poker and casino sites ahead of real-money regulation.
Last year GTECH G2 signed a play-for-fun poker deal with Californina tribes Barona and Seneca, while a similar partnership between SciPlay and the Californian Online Poker Association (COPA) was announced in June 2011.
Since then both the Maryland Live! Casino and the Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas have launched free-play sites, powered by Aristocrat Technologies and Bally respectively.
