EA Mobile and Caesars Interactive launch WSOP app
App is available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as through Facebook.
Caesars Interactive Entertainment (CIE) has teamed up with Electronic Arts’ mobile division EA Mobile to launch a World Series of Poker (WSOP) free play poker app, allowing players to compete in tournaments to collect virtual WSOP rings and bracelets.
The game will be available on iPad, iPhone and iPod devices and will offer multiple game modes including two different styles of poker – Texas Hold’em and Omaha Poker. The app is also available on Facebook, allowing players to challenge friends, send virtual in-game gifts to other players and purchase additional virtual chips.
Bernard Kim, senior vice-president of social and mobile publishing at EA, called World Series of Poker the “most authentic poker game” in the App Store. It will also be made available on Google Play in the coming weeks.
“We’ve taken the adrenaline rush of playing at the table and combined it with stats to help you anticipate your opponents’ moves for a truly fun and competitive game that fans can play anytime. No other app captures the true poker experience like World Series of Poker,” Kim added.
CIE chief financial officer Craig Abrahams added: “We are excited to partner with EA and bring a fun and authentic poker experience to your phone or tablet. The WSOP defines the ultimate poker experience and now EA is helping bring the virtual Vegas experience to our customers across multiple mobile devices worldwide.”
Caesars Interactive Entertainment owns the World Series of Poker brand “ through which it offers real-money online poker in the UK, France and Italy – and last year acquired Playtika, a social games developer of titles including Slotomania and Caesars Casino.
