Endemol readies Dutch online bingo launch
Media production giant signs joint-venture with TMG Landelijke for bingo product development ahead of 2015 regulation
Endemol Nederland and TMG Landelijke Media have entered into a joint venture to develop online bingo products for the soon-to-be-regulated Dutch market.
As part of the arrangement both companies plan to offer consumer-facing sites as soon as it is legal to do so, with development of new bingo concepts already underway.
Endemol Games has a track record of producing branded online gaming content, notably its Deal or No Deal-branded titles, Million-Pound Drop slot and Big Brother Bingo, all of which are based on its own television productions.
Laurens Drillich, CEO of Endemol Nederland, said both media companies bring significant benefits to the partnership including promoting the sites via the firms’ print, online, mobile, TV and events businesses.
“Joining forces gives us a better starting position for the further expansion of our activities,” Drillich said. “In addition to Endemol’s creative and production expertise, our company is also contributing the knowledge and experience of a global network.”
“With our strong market coverage and the creative talents of both TMG and Endemol, it must be possible to launch several logical and above all creative game formats which satisfy this requirement,” added Frank Volmer, managing director of TMG Landelijke Media.
The Dutch government is currently considering new egaming proposals which would legalise the activity with the market planned to open in early 2015.
