Entain appoints Malta managing director
FTSE 100 operator recruits compliance expert Joseph Attard to lead Maltese operations

Entain has appointed former Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) head Joseph Attard as the operator’s managing director for the country.
Attard joins the London-listed operator from MGA where he spent more than seven years, culminating in his final position as head of anti-money laundering and compliance.
Attard also currently serves as an AML gaming expert to the Council of the European Union.
In his role as Malta MD, Attard will be responsible for managing the Maltese office, as well as closely managing relationships with domestic lobbyists, authorities and supervisors.
Attard, who assumed the role on 10 January, will be based in Entain’s Malta office and will report into Florian Sauer, the group’s international compliance director.
Speaking to EGR, Attard said: “When a global leader such as Entain knocks on your door, it’s a no brainer, you listen. Its global outreach and experience within the igaming sector is hard to come by; I wanted to be part of it.
“My primary objective is to act as Entain’s ambassador locally and to establish strong relationships with key establishments. I am hopeful that my background and experience with the regulator will aid in achieving this,” he added.
