EPIC Risk Management and Whysup agree RG-led education partnership
Consultants target greater regulatory awareness of gambling related harm with new partnership

Gambling harm-prevention consultancy EPIC Risk Management has agreed a strategic partnership with addiction awareness service Whysup.
As part of the partnership, EPIC and Whysup will collaborate on education and awareness initiatives relating to the prevention of gambling harm. Both organisations have also committed to providing consultancy services to reduce gambling-related harm “at a practical but also regulatory level”.
EPIC Risk Management is currently partnered with SkyBet to provide education related services to professional footballers in the English Football League (EFL) about gambling related harms.
As part of this, EPIC aims to visit all 72 league clubs every year for five years and has just completed its first year of doing so. SkyBet recently told EGR Compliance that this initiative will be widened to include academy players during the second year.
EPIC is also currently advising GVC on its ‘Changing for the Bettor’ safer gambling initiative launched in April. Whysup offers a preventative addiction awareness service, which aims to target audience through presentations and interactive sessions.
Pete Wallis, EPIC’s operations manager highlighted the new partnership with Whysup as allowing EPIC to have greater reach and provide a positive impact on reducing gambling related harms.
Wallis also paid tribute to the developers of Whysup, adding their “passion to make a difference combined with their breadth of lived experience really resonated with us.”
“We’re excited for the future and believe this collaborative partnership will be instrumental in the strategy to make gambling safer for all.”
