Evolution launches Belgian live casino
Supplier's new studio at Casino de Spa now live with operators including bwin and Unibet following last week's foreign live dealer ban
Evolution Gaming has launched a new live casino studio in Belgium just days after a ban on the streaming of live dealers based outside the country was implemented.
Following a four-month process the studio is now live with a number of operators which hold Belgian A-Licences, including bwin, Unibet, 777, Circus, Starcasino and Napoleon Games.
The studio will stream live dealer roulette and blackjack, as well as auto slingshot roulette, from Casino de Spa – which is believed to be the world’s oldest casino – between 6pm and 2am each evening.
“We’re naturally very excited to open our fifth studio in Europe – and we’re enormously proud to have been able to integrate the studio within such a famous and historic venue,” Jens von Bahr, Evolution’s CEO, said.
“Belgian players now have access to fully compliant live casino games on their desktop, tablet and smartphone, with all of the live tables served by French and Flemish native speaking dealers. It’s a world-class service with a distinctive local flavour,” he added.
Emmanuel Mewissen, CEO of Circus Group and owner of Casino de Spa described the new operation as a “fantastic facility” offering an “operational base for virtually all of Belgium’s A-Licence operators”.
The Belgian Gaming Commission, Kansspelcommissie, implemented a ban on all foreign remote live-casino suppliers on 1 July.
Playtech is also believed to be in the process of setting up a live dealer studio in the country to comply with the new regulations, and recently reached a deal with Ladbrokes to provide its live dealers when the studio is complete.
