Exclusive: Megalotto hires William Hill casino exec as director of gaming
Hills’ Tom Orton joins CEO Grant Williams at the Malta-based lottery start-up

Megalotto has recruited William Hill’s head of casino, cross-sell and poker, Tom Orton, as its new director of gaming.
Orton started at the Malta-based start-up on 7 January and will report into fellow William Hill alumni Grant Williams, who was appointed CEO of Megalotto in March 2019.
Orton will be responsible for managing Megalotto’s partnership with risk management firms and will also take charge of casino cross-sell strategy.
Before William Hill, Orton spent more than three years with Sky Betting & Gaming in Leeds.
Williams said: “The addition of Tom to the founding Megalotto team once again shows our ability to attract top talent to the business and further aligns with our desire and ambition to provide a world-class lottery and gaming experience.”
Orton added: “The vision of the founders to disrupt the online lottery space, as well as the chance to work with the Optimizer Invest team, is what attracted me to this project and I can’t wait to get started.”
Megalotto, powered by GiG Core, is in the process of gaining a Malta Gaming Authority licence and is primed for launch in 2020.
The firm also hired former Paddy Power digital director Antti Mäki as CMO in September 2019.
