
Flutter Entertainment promotes internally for head of safer gambling strategy
Lisa O’Connor moves up from Paddy Power Betfair subsidiary after over a decade with the firm to lead RG efforts


Flutter Entertainment has appointed Paddy Power Betfair (PPB) stalwart Lisa O’Connor as its new head of safer gambling strategy for its UK and Ireland (UK&I) division.
In her new role, O’Connor will lead the design and delivery of the safer gambling strategy at Flutter for each of the brands within its UK&I arm.
Flutter employs 180 people in its safer gambling operations and has invested £45m so far in 2022 to support and promote safe play across the group.
O’Connor will remain in Dublin – Flutter’s headquarters – as she transitions from PPB to the her new role.
She originally joined PPB in April 2012 as a customer support specialist before holding a series of analyst roles until December 2017, when she was made fraud operations manager.
O’Connor occupied that position for 10 months before being made head of responsible gambling for Europe.
She also held high-level positions, including head of responsible gambling experience and head of responsible gambling behavioural insights and case management.
Her last role at the operator was as head of safer gambling strategy. She was responsible for the safer gambling strategy at PPB and worked closely with the parent company to help create a safe environment for its players.
In a post on LinkedIn, O’Connor said: “I’m very proud to share that I have started a new position as head of safer gambling strategy for UK&I at Flutter Entertainment.
“This new role involves leading the safer gambling strategy across all our amazing UK&I brands going forward. I am very excited to continue working with a fantastic team to deliver a single, seamless, safer gambling strategy for all of our customers across the UK and Ireland.”
