Flutter Entertainment trading director departs
Martin Reese announces his departure after just over five years with the firm

Flutter Entertainment UK & Ireland (UK&I) trading director Martin Reese departed the firm after more than five years with the business.
Reese will leave the operator having spent time in senior roles with both Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) and its parent company Flutter Entertainment UK&I.
He has not commented on what his next role might be but has stated that he is taking a short break from the industry.
Reese joined SBG in January 2018 as a sports risk trader from his startup firm, Three Dot Zero.
A brief stint as margin optimisation manager from April 2019 until September 2019 was followed by Reese stepping up to become head of racing for SBG.
He then spent over a year as head of racing and trading risk before becoming SBG’s trading director in December 2021.
Reese then swapped SBG for Flutter’s UK&I division as trading director in August 2022.
Prior to his time at SBG and Flutter, Reese spent a number of years at financial institutions including Halifax and Lloyds Banking Group.
Speaking on his decision to leave Flutter, Reese reflected on his time with SBG and its parent company while praising the efforts of his colleagues.
Reese said: “I got to know the best and the brightest both inside and outside of SBG and Flutter, many of whom kindly shared their time and their wisdom to help me make fewer mistakes. Thank you immensely.
“But the time has come to scratch the itch again and see if I can use what I have learnt. I’m taking a short break first, but if anyone ever wants to swap notes on racing, betting or data, hopefully, I’ve left you with my number.”
