Flutter looks to diversity and inclusion gains with new global programme
FTSE 100 operator to target four areas in push towards greater advocacy for historically disadvantaged groups

Flutter has launched a new top down-led Global Advocacy Programme to advance diversity and inclusion (D&I) related issues across its global operational areas.
Confirming the launch of the programme, the FTSE 100 operator has said it aims “to champion different diversity groups and amplify their voices on a global scale” while moving forward Flutter’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) strategy.
The strategy forms a core part of the Work Better pillar, a constituent of Flutter’s global Positive Impact Plan, first unveiled by the firm in February 2022.
The new programme will be spearheaded by members of Flutter’s group executive committee and focus on four individual areas, with the firm looking to make a collective impact and strive for positive change that scales across the business.
Two of the confirmed areas are gender, which will be led by FanDuel CEO Amy Howe, and multicultural, which will be led by Pádraig Ó Ríordáin, Flutter’s chief legal officer and commercial director.
The other two areas are LGBTQIA+ causes, which will be led by Sportsbet CEO Barni Evans, and accessibility, overseen by Flutter’s chief information officer Paul Cutter.
The whole programme comprises of four phases: listen, learn, advocate and action, each with clear aims and outcomes.
“Our executive committee understands that by actively listening, it reduces the risk of being removed from the daily experiences of colleagues, in particular those from marginalised groups,” Flutter said in a statement.
“Listening to colleagues and developing an awareness of their lived experiences will enable us to advocate for them and strengthen our ability to support and promote change,” the operator added.
Employee feedback will be solicited at all levels, with the executive committee working to co-produce an action plan with common themes “that can drive scalable and meaningful change” across Flutter.
Flutter chief people officer Phil Bishop welcomed the news, outlining the firm’s commitment to advancing DE&I causes from the top down globally.
“The Global Advocacy Programme will be central to achieving our mission of understanding the lived experiences of colleagues across Flutter, particularly those from marginalised communities,” Bishop said.
“In addition to delivering against targets set out in our Positive Impact Plan, the programme will work to remove barriers and obstacles while meaningfully closing experience gaps so there’s a level playing field for everyone,” the CPO added.
