Former Flutter UK & Ireland CEO appointed as new Racecourse Media Group chairman
Conor Grant will replace the outgoing Roger Lewis, who will depart the firm in October 2023 after three years in the role

Racecourse Media Group (RMG) has named ex-Flutter UK & Ireland CEO Conor Grant as its new chairman replacing Roger Lewis, who is departing the firm in October.
Grant will initially join the firm as a non-executive director on 1 April before taking the role of chairman on 1 October.
Grant has over two decades’ worth of experience in the igaming sector and was with Flutter for more than 17 years, culminating with his role as CEO of the UK & Ireland division.
He was made the CEO of Flutter UK & Ireland in June 2020 but left the position in July 2022 to spend more time with his family.
Before this position, Grant spent a decade working with Flutter’s Sky Betting and Gaming (SBG) brand across several roles, including head of sportsbook product management, before assuming a number of directorial positions at the Leeds-based bookmaker.
On his new role, Grant said: “I am delighted to be joining Racecourse Media Group at such an exciting time for the business and the broader racing industry.
“RMG has delivered outstanding results for its shareholders in recent years, and I would like to pay tribute to Roger, who has done a fantastic job, along with CEO Martin Stevenson, in growing and developing the business.”
“I look forward to working with the RMG team and continuing to deliver for all of our racecourses,” Grant concluded.
The outgoing Lewis has said that the board supports Grant’s appointment and the firm has secured a positive outlook for the future.
Lewis commented: “It is a tribute to the team at RMG that we have secured Conor as our next chair, and we all welcome Conor’s appointment. I am confident that Conor will take RMG to even greater heights in the years to come.
“RMG is in great shape. We are about to announce record results for the past year, and I congratulate the executive team at RMG for consistently delivering the best possible returns for our racecourses and the sport of horseracing,” Lewis added.
Lewis joined the RMG board in 2012 and was appointed non-executive independent chairman on 1 January 2019.
He was originally due to step down last year but was asked by the board to extend his tenure to help oversee the transition.
Alongside Grant’s appointment, RMG announced that non-executive director Andy Anson would step down after half a decade in the position.
On Anson’s departure, Lewis said: “On behalf of the RMG board, I would also like to thank Andy Anson, who has been a much-valued friend and colleague of us all for the past six years, chairing our audit committee with great skill and commitment.”
