Former LeoVegas CEO joins Hero Gaming board
Johan Styren to sit on the operator’s board alongside former NetEnt CEO Johan Åhman

The former CEO of LeoVegas’ Malta operations, Johan Styren, has joined the board of Malmo-based operator Hero Gaming, EGR Intel can reveal.
Styren stepped down from his position at LeoVegas in May 2017 after five years at the firm.
Hero Gaming founder and group CEO Georg Westin said the move was part of an overall shift in board management after the firm raised €6m in investment.
Former NetEnt CEO Johan Åhman has also been brought on as chairman of the board.
Westin said he will be stepping in as interim CEO for the operator’s Malta operations following Magnus Alebo’s departure last week.
“We have great plans for this year with new investment, great people on the board, and I will step in as CEO temporarily,” Westin added.
“Now I am looking for a new CEO to take us to through the next three years, which are very much focused on expansion and growth.”
The firm is also looking to launch an IPO in Q4 2019 in an effort to give back to its original investors.
Westin said: “I had many early investors who believed in me four years ago and I really want them to have a chance to make money on this great journey and I want to ensure we can continue to build this great company.”
