Fortuna strikes Playtech omni-channel deal
New agreement will see the operator launch omni-channel products in Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia

Central and Eastern European-focused operator Fortuna has signed a deal with Playtech to utilise the supplier giant’s omni-channel technology across its core markets.
The agreement was announced earlier today alongside Playtech’s H1 financial results and will see the firm provide Fortuna with its omni-channel betting and gaming platform in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
Playtech’s platform will enable the operator to develop a Fortuna-customised omni-channel solution via seamless wallet technology and CRM tools.
Speaking to eGaming Review this morning, the supplier’s CEO Mor Weizer said the contract was a significant scoop for Playtech which had previously helped launch the Fortuna brand in Romania.
“[Fortuna CEO] Per Widerström knows Playtech, is an industry expert and he certainly recognised the potential of Playtech and omni-channel,” he said.
“It is definitely a very important contract for us going forward and we are confident that it will benefit Fortuna and will position them well for further growth in the core markets they operate in,” Weizer added.
In other news, Fortuna today also announced its H1 2016 financial results, reporting a 7.7% year-on-year increase in total EBITDA to 9.7m.
Total amounts stakes soared 24.2% to 511.6m, while total gross win was up 19.9% to 80.5m and online sports betting gross win up 30.9% to 50.2m.
“Our robust performance was driven by growing online sports betting, and in particular mobile, in all the countries where Fortuna operates,” Widerström said.
“The growth was also supported by the UEFA EURO 2016 football tournament in France in which the national teams played from all the countries where Fortuna is present,” he added.
