Fred Done backs new digital marketing agency
Betfred.com becomes Active Win Media's first major client
Betfred chief executive Fred Done (pictured) has invested in a new digital marketing agency which will specialise in providing developing traffic for online and mobile sites for egaming operators.
Active Win Media, founded and managed by former The Nation Traffic marketing director Warren Jacobs, provides services in building affiliate networks, managing online media and driving traffic “at a very low cost and low risk” for its clients.
The Manchester-based start-up is a standalone business however it will provide marketing services to the Betfred.com online and mobile businesses. It currently employs 10 staff with Jacobs aiming to build a workforce of 50 staff within the next 10 months.
Warren Jacobs said of the launch: “The gaming industry thrives on this science and numbers based approach and at Active Win Media we already have the tools, the databases, the traffic and the people to replicate this model. I have chosen Manchester as the base for the new business as it is an exciting, and vibrant city which has a focus on technology and commerce and as the birthplace of the computer and home to the largest student population in Europe, so we have access to a fantastic workforce to build the business”.
Chris Sheffield, managing director of Betfred.com added: “Active Win Media are already making a huge impact after only four weeks driving thousands of new customers to our website and mobile apps and I am certain other customers in the gaming space and other sectors such as e-commerce, travel, finance, distance shopping etc will benefit from these services as well.”
Earlier this week eGaming Review revealed Betfred has developed a mobile sports betting platform to replace its current Mfuse-supplied offering, making it one of the first major bookmakers to manage the product entirely in-house. The new mobile site, which will be sent out to 5,000 Betfred customers for advanced testing next week, is set for official launch later this month.
Mobile now accounts for almost 50 % of Betfred’s online turnover and around 60 % of online profits.
