French World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann fronts PMU’s new “Question du Jour” feature
Antoine Griezmann backs the sports betting operator’s first TV ad campaign in France in two years

French footballer Antoine Griezmann was snapped up by PMU last year as a brand ambassador and is now the face of the state-run operator’s “Question du Jour” (Question of the Day) campaign launched nationally earlier this month.
PMU has been absent from television for two years as the Covid-19 pandemic hit horseracing fixtures in France.
The campaign sees the Atletico Madrid ace asked a series of existential questions such as “Water is wet but why?”, “Do you believe that the temporality of being is the same for everyone?”, and “The future is uncertain because we are ignorant or because we are free?”.
In the ad, none of these questions particularly appeal to Griezmann with the striker preferring to access “Question du Jour” on his PMU app.
In a first for French horseracing, punters are now able to bet more than just finishing positions with bets on length of victory, place bets or other characteristics of the race going experience all available to bet on.
Emmanuelle Malecaze-Doublet, deputy director general of PMU, commented on the new campaign: “Question of the Day” offers our punters an innovative, fun bet, centred on their passion and that they can talk to those around them easily and with enthusiasm. It is the first new bet launched since 2018 by the PMU and “Question of the Day” is real product innovation. It contributes to the attractiveness of our digital brand pmu.fr and will animate the daily programme of online bettors.”
