Full Tilt launches beginner tables
'New to the game' tables only accessible by players with limited experience at certain poker variants

Full Tilt Poker has announced the launch of ‘New to the Game’ tables, allowing newcomers to poker to play against those with comparable experience levels.
Play on the tables will be restricted to those who fall below a certain threshold of hands played on the site. It will be rolled out across a number of poker variants including no-limit hold’em and the recently launched Irish Poker offering. It represents a softer segregation of players than measures imposed by other online poker operators in recent months, with the Revolution Gaming Network introducing ‘fair play technology’.
However Shane Bridges, a representative of Revolution site Lock Poker, said last month the idea that the measures “will just separate the fish recreational players from the professional players” is “an incorrect assumption”. “This plan still allows the overlapping of player types to ensure the liquidity remains strong at all levels and the natural flow of funds through the poker ecology still occurs,” he said.
Sarne Lightman, marketing manager with Full Tilt Poker, said the Malta and Isle of Man licensee had introduced ‘New to the Game’ tables in order to create a “relaxed environment for players of all skill levels”. “Even the most experienced No-Limit Hold’em player can find it difficult to learn a new variant, like Omaha or Irish,” he added. Full Tilt recently dropped to fourth on the pokerscout cash game rankings.
